Step 1 - What is a rule?
Logging into dashboards everyday can be a drag. Checking the same metrics over and over for dozens of campaigns takes us away from more productive work.
Eletype rules are designed to help automate monitoring and QA for all of our campaigns and accounts.
Any user can create as many rules as they want for any of their accounts and campaigns by simply going to Settings → Configurations → Rules
Eletype has two types of monitoring rules:
- Threshold Rules
- Fluctuation Rules
Step 2 - Thresholds and Fluctuations
Threshold rules are best when you know a specific value you want to monitor.
Example: Send me a notification if the daily average spend ever exceeds $40,000 per day.
In this example, Eletype will send notifications as the daily spend approaches or exceeds $40,000 per day.
A fluctuation rule should be used when you want to monitor changes in a key metric.
Example: Send me a notification if the daily spend changes by more than +/- 10% over the previous week.
In this example, Eletype will send a notification if the daily spend changes by more than 10% this week.
Note: Eletype will automatically create a Spend fluctuation rule for all new ad accounts.
Step 3 - Let’s make a rule!
Making a new monitoring rule is easy.
- Determine if this monitor rule will be applied at an account or campaign level.
- Define if it is a threshold rule or a fluctuation rule.
- Pick your metric.
